The University of Holguin Constitutes New Honorary Chair

The University of Holguin constituted the Honorary Chair Celia Sanchez, in tribute to one of the most genuine heroines of the Cuban Revolution. The Master of Science Victor Aguilera, professor of the department of history at the educational institution and chairman of the chair, meant among the purposes of this chair to encourage new research on the life and revolutionary significance of Celia through facets not well known by the new generations. In this thematic line studies related to the Cuban Revolution will be added, probably the least processed stage in the national historiography, perhaps due to the proximity to our time, he said. The chair, he said, aims to encourage multidisciplinary research both from areas such as journalism, law and sociology in order to develop studies that contribute to a comprehensive vision of the revolutionary process. In order to understand essential transformations as the implementation of the new economic model, it is essential to know in depth the events that mark the history in recent years; for only as long as we are able to understand them, they would be available for analysis and glimpse the future of Cuban society, argued the teacher.
