The central highway extension penetrates the city of Holguín;it shows about 11new kilometers to those who arrive in the city from the capital or the neighboring provinces of the east of the country.

In the current stage, constructers build curbs, sidewalks, they pave and develop earthmoving work, in a kilometer and a half of the road until the surroundings of the old bus stationLa molienda.

Workers of the Construction Company of Engineering Works number 17, accomplish the project that will transform the image of more than 14 miles of the highway, from the International Airport Frank País García until the beginning of the ring road, right in the monument "Six Columns", on the way out to Tunas. Now they execute the most complex section due to the high traffic of the city, for which detours are created and companies like ETECSA, Acueducto and the electricity company intervenerapidly, in order to give solutions according to the requirements of the work.

Around 19 thousand means of transportation transit through the central highway during a dayin the city of Holguín, while the constructers advance. The current year stand out in the province by the scope of interventions in ways of national interest.

The improvement of the infrastructure and living conditions of Plan Turquino in the province of Holguín is an evidence of the attentionprovided by the corresponding authorities for the benefit of that developing Revolution Program in this eastern territory ofCuba.

The communal services showed improvements; theoperation and stability of the electric generatorswas set; thepassenger transportation registered a 1288 trips more compared to the same previous period; and computer andcommunication servicesadvanced as repairs and investments were made.

As an example of this, there is the installation of 37 new telephoneservices; the connection to the optical fiber of the television signal transmitters, and a radio base of mobiletelephone was installed.

Moreover, the mail services sold more than 22,400 publications; the Radio Cuba company complied with thescheduled maintenance; and in schools and television rooms it is intended to replace televisions with LED technology.

The engineering and design service enterprise Vértice of Holguín province spreads its support projects to construction in different economy fields, including tourism, with a thorough program aimed at hotel facilities mainly.

For example, the construction work of the first hotel in El Ramón de Antilla, a peninsula attached to the Nipe Bay, which is located over 100km to the northeast of the Holguín capital. It holds great potential and marine richness as to develop tourism programs offered by Cuba to those coming from different parts of world for visit.

The working labors, which allow widening the Holguín tourism area, at the moment in Guardalavaca and Pesquero, are going at a good pace as a result of a simultaneous development of projects and structural building of facilities, affirmed Yoannis Pupo, technical director of Vértice.

Departing from modern tendencies, she said, and based on new technological resources, they intend to be more creative and functional in each work, so they can respond to their clients’ interests and to current construction requirements.

Among the results obtained by Vértice in 2018, the director highlighted, it is the conclusion of the hotel Iberostar Holguín, also in Playa Pesquero, the only one of 5 stars, category Selection, belonging the Spanish group Iberostar in the northern of Cuba.

This facility, which is located 17km from Guardalavaca beach and 45km from Holguín city, is the first one built ever since the Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro Ruz inaugurated the Playa Pesquero Hotel on January 21st, 2003.

The hotel has 18 different buildings which enclose 638 rooms of distinct categories, besides six restaurants, nine bars, four pools, a tropical garden, a water park for kids, among others.
