The American cruise company Carnival Cruise Line announced thatin 2020 they will make their first trips to Cuba from New York, also Norfolk, in Virginia, and Puerto Cañaveral, Florida.

Prensa Latinapublished that the company, whose shipsalready had scheduled trips to the Caribbean island fromMiami, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa, Florida, and from Charlestown, South Caroline, will have their first departure from New York to the Caribbean nationon May 21st, 2020.

This trip, which will be on board the Carnival Sunrise (currently CarnivalTriumph), will consist of a nine-day program, which will include afull day and one night in Havana, in addition to stops in HalfMoon Cay, a private island in the Bahamas, and Nassau, the capital of thiscountry.

Thereport added that during June, July, August and September ofthat year, the same ship will travel to Cuba with similar schedules.

At the same time, the Carnival Radiance, name which will substitute the Carnival Victory after a renovation that will conclude in 2020, will carry out itsinitial departure to the Caribbean nation in June of that year, also in a period of nine days with the same stops.

The Radiance, which will repeat the routes from New York in July and August,will be the cruise that in October will depart to the largest of the Antillesfrom Norfolk in two seven-day trips, with one dayin Havana and stops in Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas.

Moreover, on board Carnival Cruise there will be departures fromPuerto Cañaveral in November and December of 2020, which will besix days, and with a day and night in Havana, in addition to visits tothose last two locations in the Bahamas.

In view of the campaign 2018-2019, 40 hectares of covered tobacco are planned to be planted, of which 32 belong to the municipality of Mayarí and the rest to Sagua de Tánamo.
