ETECSA Makes a New Mobile Internet Test on August 22

The Telecommunications Company of Cuba (ETECSA) performs this Wednesday, August 22, in the hours between eight in the morning and 12 at night, another test for access to the Internet of prepaid cellular services.

During the time period foreseen for the test, this may be stopped partially or totally according to the behavior of the network and the adjustments of technical parameters that will be evaluated, Etecsa informed.


On this occasion, customers of the prepaid cellular service will have the possibility of acquiring for a single time a package of 70 MB that they can consume at any time within the defined time for the test. Once the total amount of the package has been consumed, it can not be renewed.

Etecsa clarifies that, those customers who make use of the nauta email from the cell phone, should consider that if they have an active stock exchange, when they use the mail, they will continue discounting it.

In the test of this Tuesday, all the prepaid customers whose cell phones can surf the internet will be able to participate, according to the press release of the Institutional Communication Directorate of Etecsa. To do this they must have the Naut APN configured and the mobile data activated.

To acquire the test package you must proceed to purchase it, by any of the channels enabled for this purpose:

1- Mark * 133 # and follow the menu options, selecting the number that identifies it: Data (1), Daily Use (1) and Send (1).

2- Access the MiCubacel portal (https://mi.cubacel.net) after registration.

On August 14, Etecsa carried out the first public test of Internet access from mobiles, to which some 800 thousand people joined, according to company sources.
