Ulises Rosales del Toro, Vice President of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, visited the Base Business Unit (UEB) of medicinal plants, belonging to the Comprehensive Agricultural Company of Holguín, as part of a working visit to this eastern province.

The leader received updated information on the economic, financial and productive results of this unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, whose corporate purpose is to produce and market medicinal plants that are supplied to the Pharmacy and Optical Company of the territory.

Anna Yelis Cuba Tamayo, director of that UEB explained to the visitor details of the productive chain that

goes from the sowing, harvesting and processing of the medicinal plants of 24 species, among which are the majagua, yagruma, indigo bighorn, chamomile, calendula , linden, plantain, oregano, holy cane, wall, aloe, among others.

Rosales del Toro toured the facilities of the labor center dialogue with workers and was interested in working conditions, the wages they earn and the economic, financial and productive results that place this Unit as the best of its kind in the country.

At the end of the tour the Cuban leader praised the delivery of the group, whose approved staff is 33 workers, of which there are 30 places covered, 25 direct to production and five administrative.

This work related visit to the province has as its fundamental purpose to verify the situation of the organisms under its direction, in particular with regard to food, both human and animal, to advance towards the goals set, concluded Rosales del Toro.
