Nationally recognized as one of the most prominent of its kind, the Holplast High Density Polyethylene Pipes Company, based in Holguín city, hosted the provincial activities for the Hydraulic Worker Day, an event celebrated around Cuba on August 10th.
Holplast is an entity specialized in the manufacture of accessories destined for the conduction of water throughout the country and it gained in 2018 about 30 million pesos in terms of import substitution, explained Manuel Alejandro Otamendy, financial accounting director.
The Holguín polyethylene pipe factory has a monthly production record of more than 820 tons and an annual maximum of eight thousand, productions that benefit the hydraulic installations in the different sectors of society, he said.
The manager stressed that in the previous period they made a series of investments for the benefit of workers, which resulted in greater stability of the workforce, decrease in manufacturing time and increase in productive capacity.
More than 60 percent of workers, belonging to all areas of the company, participate in innovation forums, an aspect that generates better economic indicators, he emphasized.
Otamendy also said that Holplast has a laboratory in which they can carry out high quality tests in order to certify soon their products for export.
This company is accredited by the Integrated Business Management System by the ISO 9001 Standard of 2015, which includes quality management systems, occupational safety and environmental protection, he said. Every August 10th, the Hydraulic Worker Day is celebrated in Cuba, due to the creation of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources on that day in 1962.
