Two new hotel management contracts
Two new hotel management contracts were signed within the framework of FitCuba 2019, José Reynaldo Daniel Alonso, general director of Development of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), explained to the national press.
They are subscribed by the Canadian chain Blue Diamond and, on the Cuban side, Gran Caribe; both will work together for the operation of a new hotel that will be located in Cayo Coco, with 380 rooms, and another in the islets of Varadero, with 450 rooms.
"They will be two products of first category that will give the possibility to increase operating standards in both tourist areas," said Daniel Alonso.
On the occasion, the official presented the news in the portfolio of opportunities for foreign investment of the Ministry of Tourism that today has 103 projects.
29 in the form of joint ventures: 25 in hotels and four in theme parks. 60 hotel management and marketing contracts in new and existing facilities.
14 contracts for the administration and marketing of services in marinas and recreational parks: four in recreational centers, two marinas, two naval workshops, and six accommodation facilities in popular camping.
The delegate of the Mintur in Havana, Xonia Beltrán, explained that "today we are developing a broad investment program honoring the 500 Anniversary of Havana. The hotel capacity of the capital will increase this year to 740 rooms and will incorporate 13 new facilities, mostly small and medium accommodation.”
