The Book Fair in Holguín presents new titles
Yoel Cordoví Núñez, president of the Institute of History of Cuba, presented in the city of Holguín Cuba libre, la utopía secuestrada, by researcher Ernesto Limia, on the opening day of the Book Fair Holguín-2019, which was extended until Sunday.
The renowned historian said the text synthesizes the history to be amusingly presentedto the reading public, and it covers from the invasion of Havana by the English until the military occupation of the United States in 1899.
He also expressed this book contains a deep political analysis conceived through theoretical instruments offered by historical sciences.
Cordoví recognized the province of Holguín as one of the main places within Cuban historiography, in addition to Santiago de Cuba and Havana.
In the frame of the Book Fair, in the so-called the Cuban city of parks, the President of the Institute of Cuban History will exhibit two titles of his authorship: En diagonal con Clío andMáximo Gómez, utopía y realidad de un sueño.
During the important cultural event in the eastern city, the customary sessions will be held, such as on Social Sciences, PaperTreasure, Computing, University and the third hour which is specialized in book presentations.
The agenda of the event includes parties with Holguín troubadours, children's shows, editing workshops, as well as awards to personalities of the province and special guests.
The main stages of the fair, which is dedicated to researcher José Abreu Cardet, History National Award 2018, and the renowned writer Lourdes González, will be in the vicinity of the central park Calixto García and the cultural complex Plaza de la Marquetawhich will be a great library.
Titles like Biografía de un cimarrónby Miguel Barnet, La honradas y las impuras by Miguel de Carrión, El garrancho de Garabullaby Rubén Rodríguezand the expected Había una vez, appear among the volumes that readers can find during the literary event in Holguínterritory.
