Air Transat airline advanced winter operations in Holguín
The international airport Frank País García received on Monday the Airbus A330-200 from the Canadian airline Air Transat, as an advance of the operations planned for the winter high season in Holguín tourism area.
This way this group is one of the main tour operators in the Northern Province, where an ambitious investment program in tourism field is taking place in order to widen hotel capacities over the seashore.
The flight, which arrived short after 1:00pm, carried 328 passengers who were mainly heading to the main hotels of Cubanacán group in Guardalavaca.
Air Transathad six weekly flights to this destination and currently, since the 23rd, it has 10. Canada consolidates as the main tourists’ supplier to Holguín with more than a 40 percent, then England with a 12 percent and in third position is Russia, which opened direct route to the city of parks since December 25th, 2017, and ever since it keeps a flight every 10 days with more than 490 passengers as average.
MaikelRobeltFutiel, the sales specialist of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) in Holguín, declared that more than 50 flights arrive to Holguín weekly, the majority coming from Canada, but in the next days they will be more than 70.
