The five Holguín sugar mills are in harvest time

After LoynazHechavarría sugar mill of Cueto municipality begunworking, Holguín province has now its fivesugar industries in full operation.

This sugar mill as the other four started functioning before plan as part of a strategy intended to accelerate the crude production. Hopefully, this harvest will be superior than the previous one, which was seriously affected by bad weather conditions mainly.

Adolfo Mora, deputy director of the sugar enterprise in Holguín, declared that the harvest registers favorable indicators regarding levels of daily grinding and industrial profit, which are basic parameters concerning the province prospects to fulfilling the sugar production plan.

The harvest 2018-19 in the eastern territorystartedin the Cristino Naranjoplant on November 13th, and two days after inUrbanoNoris. These are the main sugar producers in Holguín.

Along with these two sugar mills and the LoynazHechavarría, the province counts on the Fernando de DiosandLópez-Peñamills, both belonging to Báguano municipality.

Mora pointed out that according to the levels of sugar delivery by Holguín industries and other areas of cutting and transportation, the province is ready to reach the 33 thousand tons of crude for the so-called small harvest, which nationally close the 31st of this month.

The director added that the harvest in general is working well in the province since to date it has fulfilled 120 percent of the crude production plan, despite some inconveniences in UrbanoNoris plant due to industrial problems and the LoynazHechavarría which has just practicallystarted the agro-industrial process, along with certain limitations regarding the means of transportation of sugar cane.
