The television in Holguín was born on December 5th, 1976.

A common effort among its future workers enabled the transformation of an old bus station into what it is today, a school for audiovisual professionals in Holguín territory and beyond.

Starting as a branch of Tele Rebelde channel, the studio grew and became a model of talent and prestige with the formation of new producers.

The effort of directors, cameramen, journalists, light technicians, scriptwriters, and other workers of this center is materialized today with a wide sequence of shows such as informative ones, scientific and technical ones, juvenile ones, musicals, historical ones, as well as shows for kids and dramas.

During these decades, Telecristal has been involved in different events, it has reported minute by minute each fact that has taken placed in the province. Besides, it counts on the effort of national reporters who are also part of the journalists’ team.

This way the whole country can witness the most important events taking place in the world of culture, sports, education, as well as in every economic, political and social sphere throughout the northeast of Cuba.

Today, after 42 years since the first television signal came out of this studio, a novel team continues the formula of the experts.

In this place, solid knowledge is combined with the will of learning and succeeding. Telecristal is open to the youth and it continues to be a model in the information field for every home in the city.
