Bolivian Ambassador joins the Ibero-American Culture Festivity

Juan Ramón Quintana, the Bolivian Ambassador in Cuba, inaugurated the exposition The Amazonian Bolivian Worldin Holguín, as part of the XXIV edition of the Ibero-American Culture Festivity that will continue until October 30th in the capital of Holguín.

The exhibition displays cultural properties donated by indigenous councils from the Amazonianin Bolivia, which constitute authentic manifestations of handicraft, knitting, painting and woodcraft.

The diplomat underlined that the culture of each people becomes its protective shield against those who bestow themselves the right to attack the nations of the region.

After the opening of the exposition, Quintana stressed the importance of the union among cultures, the respect to our identitiesso as the cultural values and historical heritage.

The Amazonian Bolivian Worldexposes traditional pieces of work from this nation and highlights its cultural wealth from 36 indigenousvillages.

The Bolivian exhibition is one of the first activitiesfrom the current edition of the Ibero-American Culture Festivity. This event has been celebrated every yearin Holguín since 1993; in orderto commemorate the encounter between two cultures and remember the landing of Admiral Christopher Columbus in Cuba on October 28th, 1492, by the bay of Bariay in the Holguín municipality of Rafael Freyre.
