This third of September is a very special day in Cuba, because it marks the beginning of the school year 2018-2019, a teaching stage that will capture the attention of all Cubans during the next 10 months.

According to published statistics, one million 745 thousand 600 students of the general education to which are added more than 240 thousand in the universities, integrate the enrollment that will attend an

amount superior to the 10 thousand 700 educational institutions in the whole country .

In the case of the province of Holguin, the general enrollment amounts to more than 163 thousand 600 students in all the teachings, which is completed with more than 14 thousand students who will go to the classrooms of the University in the different modalities and postgraduate activity.

During the opening day of the school year, educational centers will be inaugurated, such as the "Carlos Manuel de Céspedes" elementary school and the "Alfredo Sosa" pre-university, located in the municipalities of "Urbano Noris" and Holguín, in that order.

Added to the list are the "William Aguilera" seminars, from the town of San Andrés, municipality of Holguín, and "Expedicionarios del Corinthia", in the municipality of Cacocum, selected for the celebration of the provincial act of the beginning of the school year 2018-2019.

This date arrives with enormous efforts developed to guarantee the material base of study in each one of the Holguin schools that will open their doors, as well as the logistics in general to face the needs of the teaching period.

The challenge is posed and the responsibility to fulfill it lies with the students, teachers, professors and general education workers, who will demonstrate their dedication to the goal of guaranteeing a successful school year in the 2018-2019 academic period.
