It is imperative for  beekeepers of Holguin to accelerate the productive rhythm that allows them to meet the annual plan for the collection of bee honey, fixed at 444 tons of sweet product.

Until last July they accumulated a delay in their levels of production, collecting only 176 tons of the 203 planned until then, a result that implies reversing what has been achieved and advancing much more.

Specialists in the field consulted said that the delay occurred during the first quarter of the year, as from May there was a notable recovery, and with the increase of transhumance in the months of September, for the areas of chewstick, and in December for the fairy bellflower, it is expected to fulfill the plan.

As propolis and wax, two of honey products, have so far this year fulfillments of 173 and 143 hundred respectively, and is expected to maintain these levels until the end of the year.

There is optimism and confidence among beekeepers in the territory of Holguin, where they will achieve the productive goal set for this year, as there are the resources and materials required.

There is consensus among specialists in beekeeping in Holguin that the campaign production and gathering of honey will have a happy ending, because it has all resources and supplies needed guaranteed to comply with the government order.
