The optimum use of the new information and communication technologies is the main challenge of the University of Holguin, an institution that takes up the distance learning modality for the incoming school year.

Reynaldo Velázquez, rector of the center of higher education, who in the next academic period will open in this type of study the careers of Accounting, Agroindustrial Processes, Law, Information Sciences and Degree in History.

The Rector noted that the distance program has as a particularity the non-presence in the training process of the students, although the institution will organize sessions of consultation and exchange between students and teachers at certain times of the year.

Those interested should show, he said, a great interest in their training, which will require them high dedication in the individual study and technological conditions for the review of the bibliography, which will mostly be in digital format.

To raise the quality of the various programs and processes of academic training, it will be another challenge in the 2017-18 school year for students and professors of higher studies in Holguin, which has eight faculties and 45 majors with an enrollment of more than nine thousand students and 700 thousand teachers.
